Richard was in my World History class with Miss Statler in tenth grade. I thought he was a handsome boy. I was saddened to read of his death, when it occurred.
I remember being shocked when I heard about this terrible tragedy. Richard was one of my "boyfriends" in elementary school! He used to bring me costume jewelry continually. It was the sweetest things. I never learned the whole story about the fire. Can anyone fill me in?
Hi Jane. What I remember is that Richard lived in a trailer with a couple of other guys. One night the trailer caught fire, and he was trapped in a back bedroom with no window exit. A terrible tragedy....
Richard and I were best friends at HHS, we often spent weekends together at his house or mine, until Jane Appling, my across the street neighbor in Carrollton, wrote that post about her and Richard's romantic involvement I thought Richard was just hanging out with me for fun but looks like there was an alterior motive...LOL!!!
What a great friend and classmate who left us far too soon...RIP Richard!
Greg! Nah, he was coming to see you! Our romance ended in grade school! How the heck are you? Where are you living? I'm adjusting to being a widow. Conley, my hubby of 40+ years, passed away from Parkinson's complications on May 12. Going to Memphis next month to finally bury my Mom and stepdad's ashes in the family plot. Looking forward to seeing Murf and Nancy.
Roxane! Thanks for the info. about Richard's death. I do vaguely remember those facts about Richard's death. What a tragedy and a waste of a good life. Didn't you just recently have a birthday?? Happy Belated Birthday!
