Linda S. Grabau

Linda S. Grabau

Linda Sue Jenkins née Grabau died on Sunday, 27 August 2017 in Fargo, North Dakota in the company of her sister, Deborah.

Linda was born in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1952 to Dr. Eugene and Vera Grabau née Dyer, and shared her father’s passion for pediatric medicine, attending Saint Luke’s Hospital School of Nursing to become a registered nurse in 1973. Linda not only worked to help people, but also took joy in connecting with them and in learning their stories. She went on to attend Washington University to become a certified pediatric nurse practitioner in 1978.

She is survived by her daughter Elise Bohnert née Jenkins of Basel, Switzerland; her sister Deborah Ryan née Grabau of Fargo, North Dakota; and her sister Karen Conley née Grabau of Saint Charles, Missouri. She was also a beloved aunt and great-aunt.

Preceding her in death are her parents and her brother, Gary Grabau, of Saint Louis, Missouri.

Memorial contributions in Linda’s name can be made to the Missouri Botanical Gardens http://www.missouribotanicalgarden.org/donate

So sorry to learn of Linda's death. Her father, Dr. Gene Grabau, was our pediatrician and a friend of my mother's. I think Linda inherited an enthusiasm for medicine from her father, who was a devoted physician.  I have a much younger brother, and when we took him to see Dr. Grabau, Linda was working at the office, in Baden. In school, Linda was in my World History class, taught by Miss Statler. She was a sweet girl, petite, with large gray eyes; I always thought she resembled her father. So sorry, too, to read that her older brother, Gary, has also died.
